Imprint of credit card

This seems to be popping up for some travellers as a “new thing” – it certainly is not new – it is the correct way of transacting with credit cards in a manner to protect the agent, airline and at the end of the day a secure transaction with the client.

Imprint of credit card?

What is it? Well it is an imprint of the credit card of a Credit Card Charge form reffered to as a “CCCF”. An imprint is ajust that an imprint – you know when you were small you made imprints of coins on paper etc – well this is what an imprint is – it is basically a rubbing of the credit card on a CCCF.

This is an IATA ruling and is required to be a secure transaction other wise an ADM can be raised against the Travel Agency if it is disputed.

Here is the link to the specific IATA ruling
